14 year old young man killed in car vs pedestrian accident in Round Rock
Sunday evening around 6 PM Round Rock Police reported the intersection of Louis Henna Boulevard and La Frontera Boulevard was closed due to a wreck involving two vehicles and a pedestrian.
An hour later they updated their report to announce that the pedestrian, a juvenile male, who was struck, was killed but occupants of the two vehicles only sustained minor injuries and the intersection remained closed.
Around 9 PM RRPD posted that one of the vehicles involved in the wreck was reported stolen and a suspect, Leandro Brito-Martinez attempted to flee the site of the accident on foot but was captured and arrested. The identity of the juvenile who was killed was not released.
The intersection was cleared and reopened by 10 PM.
Williamson County Sheriff’s Department has charged the suspect with Murder in this incident. Leandro Brito-Martinez has a long history of arrests since 2014 in Williamson County and has been charged in the past by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, Leander Police department, Austin Police, Cedar Park Police, and now by the Round Rock Police. Brito-Martinez has been charged multiple times with fleeing from officers, evading arrest, and a wide variety of other counts.
The young man that was killed has been identified on social media as Victor Soto. Victor was only 14 years old. A GoFundMe page has been created for his family.
