Arrest made in SH 130 shooting.

March 22, 2021: Update on Wednesday’s Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital lockdown.

On Wednesday, March 17, the U.S. Marshals’ Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Christopher Dwayne Mims, age 32, in Austin after the Pflugerville Police Criminal Investigations Division filed an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, with a $100,000 bond.

Mims is accused of shooting his girlfriend on the night of March 16 while driving northbound on SH 130 through the City of Pflugerville at approximately 10:45 p.m. on SH130 near Pecan. The male suspect drove the pickup truck to the hospital, dropping off the female victim at Baylor, Scott & White in Pflugerville. The victim was then transported to Seton Hospital Williamson for treatment.

On Wednesday morning around 1:30 am the Round Rock police were informed  that a victim of a gunshot wound had been transported to Ascension Hospital in Round Rock and the suspect in the shooting was seen in the area of the hospital.

Round Rock police tweeted around 1:30am

“Officers are responding to an incident at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital. Please avoid the area. TIME: 1:30am Wednesday”

At 2:15 am

“Officers are searching for a suspect involved in an assault. The suspect was last seen in the area of Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital. The hospital is currently on lockdown. TIME: 2:15am Wednesday.”

At 4:15 am

“Officers are continuing to search for the suspect. The hospital remains on lockdown. There are no reports of gun shots at the hospital. TIME: 4:15am Wednesday”

..and again at 5:45 am

“Officers continue to search the hospital campus for an adult male subject suspected of assault. Please avoid Ascension Seton Williamson. TIME: 5:45am”

At 6:00 am the RRPD posted a statement on Facebook

“Officers are searching for an adult male subject suspected of assault at the Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital. The hospital is currently on lockdown. Please avoid the area. TIME: 6am Wednesday.

At 8:00 am

“Officers have conducted a search of the building and the suspect was not located. Hospital staff is lifting the lockdown. The assault investigation is being conducted by the Pflugerville Police.

It is believed the assault occurred in the jurisdiction of the Pflugerville Police Department. There are no reports of injuries or gun shots occurring at the hospital.

The Pflugerville Police Department is still actively investigating, and no further information is available at this time.
