Former Round Rock resident victim of a shooting in Florence

Williamson County Detectives continue to investigate a homicide that occurred on August 4, 2022, at approximately 8:45 pm. Williamson County received a 911 call regarding a shooting in the 4500 block of County Road 245, outside the City of Florence, in Northwestern Williamson County. On deputies’ arrival, they found a 70-year-old female deceased on the roadway.

The victim has been identified as 70-year-old, Diana Lynn Pier of Florence TX.

Pier, previously lived in the South Creek subdivision and her children attended school here in Round Rock. Diana and her husband John move to the Florence area in recent years and were building their dream retirement home. She was an active member of the Saint William Catholic Church and was very involved in Round Rock school activities. Our family send our condolences to John and the Pier family on the loss of Diana.
