Man who died from injuries in Kenny Fort Boulevard fire identified.

UPDATE 3:00pm, Saturday December 28th. The cause of a fatal house fire that occurred Nov. 25 in the 300 block of South Kenney Fort Boulevard remains undetermined. The victim, identified as 85-year-old Thomas Elrod, died Monday, Dec. 9 as a result of his injuries.

The Round Rock Fire Department reported Tuesday that the 85 year-old victim in last month’s house fire in the 300 block of South Kenney Fort Boulevard died from his injuries on Monday, Dec. 9th. The cause of the blaze, which occurred on November 26th, remains undetermined. They ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts this holiday season.

UPDATE: 7:00 am Tuesday November 26th Just after 5:00 pm, the Round Rock Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 300 block of  Kenny Fort Boulevard which is located between 79 and the PARD walking trail.

The heavy smoke was visible from across town and the fire was visible from Route 79. Kenny Fort Boulevard was closed at both ends while the Fire Company knocked down the flames. An 85-year-old man who was the only occupant in the home at the time was taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. Animal control was also on scene and helped secure four dogs and 3 horses on the property which are all safe unfortunately a cat did not survive. The structure was badly damaged. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
