Round Rock Fire Department has been very busy the last seven days.
Thursday: December 1st
The Round Rock Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire that resulted in the death of one animal Thursday evening. No residents or responders received injuries.
At 7:48 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, six units responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 2100 block of Redwing Way.
The first units arrived on scene at 7:54 p.m. Initial reports from arriving companies advised that there was fire in the garage and that it flames could be seen coming through the roof. At the time of the fire, three dogs occupied the home, and sadly one dog succumbed to its injuries.
As a result of the fire, the home will likely be a total loss.
The Round Rock Fire Department received assistance from the Round Rock Police Department, Round Rock Animal Control and Williamson County EMS.
At this time, the cause of the fire appears accidental in nature and remains under investigation.
Saturday: December 3rd
On Saturday December from 8:00am to Noon the Round Rock Fire Department held an open house at all of their fire stations across the city! The event was well attended and the kids and adults loved it.
Monday: December 5th
The Round Rock Fire Department joined The Cedar Park Fire Department in assisting Austin Fire, fighting a large fire that broke out early in the morning in the golf cart barn at Avery Ranch Golf Course. The Cart Barn was destroyed along with up to 80 golf carts. There were no injuries reported.
Wednesday: December 7th
This morning Round Rock Fire Department made quick work of a structure fire in the 1800 block of Magnolia Drive in Round Rock. The home was badly damaged but no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
Busy putting out fires, open house ….. not to mention all the EMS assists in between!
