Round Rock Police release the names of the deceased victims

The Round Rock Police Department has identified the two victims who died on Saturday, June 15, 2024, following a shooting at Old Settlers Park.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at Old Settlers Park after an altercation between two groups during Round Rock’s annual Juneteenth celebration. The incident resulted in two fatalities and 14 injuries.
The deceased victims have been identified as 33-year-old Lyndsey Vicknair from Manor and 54-year-old Ara Duke from Pflugerville. Neither victim was involved in the altercation.
“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the tragic loss of innocent lives and the injuries sustained by several others in Saturday’s senseless act of violence. Our deepest condolences go out to the families affected by this tragedy. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community and will work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice,” said Chief Allen Banks. “Together, we will stand strong and support one another during this difficult time for our community.”
Round Rock detectives are currently interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, and pursuing leads in this ongoing investigation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
