The City of Austin and Travis County now require residents to wear masks when they are in public, use public transportation and ride-shares. The face mask order is for all residents over the age of 10 when they are in public. The latest order requires the use of masks anywhere it is not possible to consistently maintain at least six feet distance from others.
Many of the stores in Austin and Travis County that are open to the public are also requiring the use of masks when you enter the store.
Williamson County is currently “encouraging” all county residents to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations to wear face coverings when they are out in public. So the use of a mask in public is still a “recommendation” in Williamson County and not currently “required”.
Several stores in the Round Rock area are requiring that everyone who enters the store wear a mask so we recommend that, if you can, you wear a mask when you are in public or at least carry one with you.
