The name of the individual who died at the Red Hills Villas last week is released

Round Rock Police responded to a shooting that occurred in an apartment complex around 8:50 PM Thursday night, January 19, 2023. When officers arrived at the Red Hills Villas, located at 1401 South AW Grimes Boulevard, they found a male with apparent gunshot wounds.

The male with the gunshot wounds involved in the shooting incident, died at the scene. He has been identified as Marcos Esparza, 21, of Round Rock.

Round Rock Police interviewed an involved male party at the scene, who is cooperating with the investigation. Round Rock Police have partnered with the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is on-going. Police believe the shooting  to be an isolated incident between two males.
