Weather update

National Weather Service confirmed at least two Tornados touched down in Caldwell County. One located between the cities of Lockhart and Mendoza and another in Mustang Ridge. There were no reports of injuries reported, but the tornados did damage to several buildings. Earlier in the day The NWS had posted Tornado Warning for Travis, Bastrop, Hays and Caldwell Counties.

The weather service had posted and extended Flash Flood warnings for our area throughout the day yesterday. ATX Floods and the City of Round Rock identified several low water crossing closed at Memorial Park, Harrel Parkway and CR123 at Brushy Creek.

Over all, Round Rock received between 4 to 6 inches of rain. The stormy weather which hit our area was in large part the remnants of the record breaking Hurricane “Otis” that hit Mexico and killed at least 27 in a devastating blow to Acapulco, Mexico.
